In a one hour special for ITV, TV favourite, Phillip Schofield spends a year celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Entertaining, informative and hugely inspirational, this will be a unique celebration of the world’s leading achievement award for young people, as it enters a symbolic year.
Phillip will spend time with key members of the Royal Household, including the Duke of Edinburgh himself, along with the Earl and Countess of Wessex who are both DofE ambassadors with Prince Edward playing nearly as big a role in the charity as his father these days.
Phillip will trace the awards’ rich history, through rarely seen archive, before investigating the incredible impact it has had on young lives the world over, meeting individuals and groups from all walks of life who have taken part and hearing their inspirational stories. But Phillip won’t stop there. To mark its 60th year, he’ll also be doing a challenge of his own, as part of the one-time-only ‘Diamond Award’.
